Challenging Times for EGRR

As the economy struggles to recover, EGRR is also dealing with the effects of the recession. We have taken in more dogs with medical problems requiring surgery or extensive vet care than ever in our history. This has taken a toll both on our foster home system and on our treasury. Several dogs have been adopted but the following remain in foster homes as they receive the TLC and care they deserve knowing that some day it will be their turn to meet their forever family. Please consider helping by making a financial donation, becoming a foster home, or adopting one of these special “special needs” Goldens. You can read about these dogs on our Available Dog page.

Evergreen Golden Retriever Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to change for the better the lives primarily of Golden Retrievers in need. As stewards of these dogs many of whom have been forgotten by their owners, EGRR volunteers bathe, feed, transport, socialize, train and care for the needs of these dogs at their own expense. This dedication of our volunteers comes from a love and commitment to this wonderful breed regardless of the origins of the dog.

EGRR volunteers also strive to educate the public in responsible pet ownership in an effort to insure the success of our placements and when possible, avoid the necessity of an owner having to place their dog. It is our goal in this education process to arm people with the knowledge needed to make the best choice for themselves and their dog.

Get Involved – Join our Team

We have a great team of volunteers who are always in need of more help. Fostering, transporting dogs, doing home visits, or making phone calls – all are important jobs and are appreciated by the dogs we care so much about. For more information, contact our volunteer team by clicking here.
