We are fortunate to have a waiting list of people wanting to adopt our Rescue Goldens. Having a waiting list allows us to look for the best possible match for each dog. If we have more than one applicant who appears to be a good match for a particular dog, we call the one who has waited the longest first. Dogs are posted here only when we have no suitable or interested adopter for them on our waiting list. Therefore, the quickest way to find “your Golden” is to get on our waiting list. You do this by submitting your adoption application which can be downloaded from our Forms page. If there is a dog posted here that you are interested in adopting, please send us an e-mail.

Sassy is an 8 year old spayed female who prior to coming into Rescue lived her entire life in her owner's backyard. She had some things to learn in the beginning including housebreaking, but is now reliable and loves to be inside with her family. She is a very gentle soul and gets along well with everyone. Like most Goldens, she loves to get petted and is learning to play with toys. She loves to go on a walk and is good on a leash and stays close when off-leash. She had a large fatty tumor on her side that Rescue had removed and she has fully recovered from that surgery. She is about 20 pounds overweight but gradually getting fitter and trimmer. Due to her weight and muscle weakness from inactivity, she would do best in a home without stairs or slippery floors. She goes on a 30 minute walk daily and this should be continued in her new home. Her foster home has a doggie door which she manages very well and that would be ideal for her as she likes to go out frequently during the day to potty or check on the yard. Sassy does have a seizure disorder which is well managed with medication. Her blood work confirms that she is otherwise a healthy dog. She would be perfect for a retired person who wants a calm, laid-back dog who will spend most of the time lying by their side. The word that best describes Sassy is sweet!
